REMEMBRANCE WALK SATURDAY 28th OCTOBER 10.00am to 11.30am

Join Catherine Walker, Curator of the War Poets Collection at Edinburgh Napier University, for our last walk of the year – a relaxed stroll up and around Wester Craiglockhart Hill.

Hear about Craiglockhart Hospital, about the war experiences of the shell shocked patients and about the pioneering psychiatric treatments of the doctors.

There will be short readings by talented locals (Stuart Guild Graeme Hastie, Kevin McKay, Margaret Marr and Elaine Turner) from poems by Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon, Robert Graves and others. Many of their best poems were written at Craiglockhart.

This walk honours the service and sacrifice of all our armed forces in all wars.

Gather at the main entrance of Edinburgh Napier University below the ‘Egg’ lecture theatre. You can park in the adjacent car park. You don’t need to book and it’s free.
